Basic leadership training Camp
Information on the camp
JROTC BLT CAMP
23 August 2022
Parents/Guardians:
Once again we will offer a conventional (overnight) Basic Leadership Training (BLT) camp this semester. The camp is voluntary, but we encourage cadets to attend. Camp affords the cadets a rare opportunity to come together as a unit outside of school but in a structured, team building, outdoor environment.
Dates: Wednesday, 28 September to Saturday, 1 October
Location: Cispus Learning Center
2142 Cispus Rd
Randle, WA 98377
360-497- 7131 x203
Cadets should report to JROTC at 7:30 AM on 28 September
We have a limited number of sea bags (duffle bags) that we will issue cadets. If your cadet does not receive a seabag, he/she will need to use an appropriate travel bag from home. Please see the BLT Load List and ensure that all items are included in the sea bag.
Cadets will be excused from school on 28-30 September. Cadets must be approved by all their teachers to attend camp.
We will return from camp and arrive at CHS by approximately 1:00 PM on Saturday, 1 October. We ask that parents/guardians be on time to pick up their cadet.
All cadets are required to have updated medical paperwork (Navy Standard Release Form (SRF) and Health Risk Screening Questionnaire (HRSQ)) which was distributed to each cadet at the beginning of the school year. All forms provided in the camp packet must be properly filled out and signed by parent/guardian as required.
The cost of the camp is $65.00 per cadet. Cadets will pay for this through their student accounts at school. Scholarships are available for financial hardship situations. Please contact the JROTC instructors for more information.
Should you have any questions please contact CDR Bedell or Warrant Officer Kindred at 253-566-5710 x2467 or via email at kbedell@upsd83.org; mkindred@upsd83.org.

Cispus Emergency Procedures
The Camp is designed to be a developmental experience. The carefully controlled environments will physically and mentally challenge all cadets. Cadets will be unable to contact parents (and vice versa) due to
no cell phone service in the camp area. See communication procedures below.
The following information is provided in the event a bona fide emergency arises and parents must contact their cadet while he/she is at Camp.
If you need to contact your child, IN AN EMERGENCY please contact the instructors (UTILIZE THE CAMP LAND LINE PROVIDED BELOW AND SEND AN EMAIL) and we will ensure that your child contacts you. Should it be necessary for us to contact you for any reason, we will use the telephone number you provided on the permission slip and send an email.
