Graduation Requirements
Curtis High School Graduation Checklist
Each student must meet the following requirements to graduate from high school:
(1) complete the credit requirements specified in the procedure accompanying this policy;
(2) demonstrate career and college readiness by completing a High School and Beyond Plan;
(3) meet the requirements of at least one Graduation Pathway option described in the procedure accompanying this policy;
(4) meet the requirement for Washington State History;
(5) and complete volunteer service hour requirements determined for each graduation class
What is a personalized pathway requirement (PPR)?
Refers to three “flexible” credits (2.0 credits of World Language and the second 1.0 of Fine Art). If requested, students can choose to take other classes that better prepare them for the goals outlined in their High School and Beyond Plan.
Planning your student's Pathway to Graduation
In addition to the 24 course credit requirements, High School and Beyond Plan, Volunteer Hours, and Washington State History, students must meet the requirements for 1 of the 4 major pathways:
Demonstrate COLLEGE-CAREER READINESS in ELA & MATH
Demonstrate CAREER READINESS through CTE Graduation Pathway (Students can meet a pathway requirement by completing a district-approved two (2.0) credit Career Technical Education (CTE) sequence connected to their High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP).
Demonstrate MILITARY READINESS through ASVAB

High School And Beyond Plan
The High School and Beyond Plan is a state graduation requirement. Each student must have a High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) to guide the student's high school experience and prepare the student for postsecondary education or training and career. Students start their plans in seventh or eighth grade and then continue to revise them throughout high school to accommodate changing interests or educational and career goals.

Waiver Options and Information
For the graduating classes of 2020 through 2022, emergency waivers have given students who are ready for their next steps the much-needed flexibility to earn their high school diploma, despite emergencies.
