Ingrid, a first-generation chemical engineering student, embodies a blend of Hispanic and American heritage. Growing up, she developed a profound passion for the field of nuclear energy. Recognizing its potential as a sustainable and efficient power source, she dedicated herself to promoting its understanding and advancement. Driven by her desire to make a lasting impact, Ingrid embarked on a mission to promote nuclear energy in Puerto Rico. Her unwavering dedication led her to establish the first American Nuclear Society (ANS) student section in the Caribbean at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Campus, fostering a community of like-minded individuals eager to explore the limitless possibilities of nuclear technology. With her strong foundation in chemical engineering, Ingrid now aspires to further specialize in nuclear engineering and fuel recycling. Her goal is to revolutionize the nuclear fuel cycle by implementing innovative techniques that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize the utilization of nuclear resources. Ingrid's determination, combined with her multicultural background, positions her as a catalyst for change in the realm of nuclear energy, fostering a brighter, cleaner, and more sustainable future.
