Welcome to UDHS!

We want you to know that academic success is important to us here at UDHS.

Setting the Stage for Success

It is important to be in regular communication with teachers.  You can reach your teachers directly via email or a Schoology message. All of teachers are available during morning synchronous time; and we encourage students to make it a practice of "stopping in" virtually to ask questions and to build an academic success plan.

Building Routines to Support Academic Success

Routines are important for academic success.  The "in-person" and "synchronous" school day begin at 9:45am. When students "arrive" at school (if you are "in person" we recommend that you arrive at the building by 9:30am), they head directly to block 1.

Between the hours of 7:30-8:54am students can work on asynchronous assignments. For example, Block 1E correlates with Block 1. If students prefer to have mornings free, they have the option to complete asynchronous work the night before. Teachers host office hours during morning synchronous time. In addition to school time, it is also important to set aside structured time outside of school to work on and complete assignments.

Flex is a time that can look different for each student. Lunch is served during flex. Some students enjoy down time or use the time to complete their work.  Other students participate in offerings from the music program or AP courses or use the time to meet with teachers or socialize with other students.
