Authentic assessments as a practice are now in place within the K-12 system and more specifically at the ALS where students are encouraged to submit a portfolio of works as evidence of learning and achievement. This course is intended to prepare ALS teachers, para-teachers, learning support aides and/or teaching assistants to engage in the teaching and preparation of electronic portfolios as a viable option to help their students showcase their best evidence of learning. This course aims to equip teachers with basic skills in the planning and execution of ePorfolios, including the use of varied ICT tools/platforms for ePortfolio-making.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, the participants should be able to:
a) Acquire knowledge of principles in creating ePortfolios as evidence of learning;
b) Employ the design cycle in the curation of content for ePortfolios; and
c) Produce ePortfolios using a selection of ICT tools/platforms and self-reflection
activities
