Welcoming New Students 2019/2020
3rd September 2019Welcome new students to Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for the academic session of 2019/2020. A total of almost 400 students registered in 6 programs at the faculty. The are the selected students for the Health Sciences Programs (as below) and the Doctor of Medicine.
We congratulate all students and wish a successful 4 years journey into the green campus of UPM. Remember the mission- to acquire knowledge to fulfill your dreams and your beloved family!

18th September 2019 Professor Hilary Pinnock, a lead PI for Malaysia elaborated the RESPIRE project funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), focusing on the respiratory health in Asia. We proudly present our academic staf, Dr Hani Salim, who is currently do her PhD under Professor Pinnock supervision.
The role of nutrition is less explored and should be part of the RESPIRE project. We previously determined the poor quality of life among patients with COPD and some of the nutrition factors affecting the progress of COPD. This project leaded by Dr Noraida Omar. Further reading: COPD and QOL
Visit from Yokohama High School for International Relations to Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia on 07 November 2019
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia, received a delegation from the Yokohama High School of International Relations on the 7th of November 2019 (Thursday). The delegation, consisted of 3 teachers and 23 students, was headed by Ms. Kayo Masujima and was received at the faculty by Dr. Shaharuddin Mohd Sham, coordinator for the visit. The purpose of the visit was to know more about UPM and the faculty and to present several topics and issues of interest by the high school students. Before the start of the programme, the delegates posed in front of the faculty’s main steps for a photo opportunity and they were accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Barakatun Nisak Mohd Yusof, Deputy Dean (Academic Health Sciences and Student Affairs), Dr. Lee Khuan, Head, Department of Nursing and Rehabilitation and Ms. Norazlina Zulkifli from the Corporate Strategy and Communications Office (CosComm).

Welcoming New Students 2020/2021
12th October 2020Welcome new students to Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for the academic session of 2020/2021. As in previous year, we proudly receive a total of almost 400 students registered in 6 programs at the faculty.
The beginning of the new semester for a university student can be exciting yet a stressful moment, even in the usual circumstances. The new semester for a freshie can be a new academic life chapter which may present with unfamiliar challenges and situation. This is even more challenging during the pandemic of Covid-19.
The university provide new and innovative strategies to carry on with a new-norm of operation while prioritizing the health and safety of our students. We performed the virtual orientation meeting between the faculty members and the new students. We hope our new students would be able to adapt and adopt the university life virtually while waiting to be back in campus, hopefully very soon. All the best!
