COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies
Historic sites like Green Gables have had to close multi-stall restrooms and install temporary facilities to meet cleaning standards to sanitize every surface on a frequent basis. In addition, there are some beach access points that do not meet the line-of-sight requirements to allow for people to pass by one another, such as Ross Lane near Brackley.
Traffic Control along Gulf Shore Parkway
A solution was needed to reduce the number of cars speeding along the long straight path between beaches to reduce traffic speeds and deter dangerous driving.
Piping Plover Indigenous Nesting Areas Protection
Some beaches are closed in early May through August to protect nesting areas for piping plovers. The nesting areas change each year and information signs tend to get washed away during high tides, endangering the nesting areas when visitors are in the area. Signage is needed for these areas in the varying tides that are moveable to any beach location as well as removable during the off-months.
Off-Grid Mobile Visitor Accommodation for Greenwich Park
Moveable short-term sleeping/living accommodations are required specifically for Greenwich, incorporating off-grid technology for lights, power, and water.
