The Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) of the BA Journalism program are the following:
1. Demonstrate industry-level competencies in journalistic research, writing, and production using various tools and platforms
2. Apply journalistic research, writing and production skills for the public good
3. Think critically and act ethically in the changing media landscape
4. Produce scholarly work that would add to the body of knowledge in journalism
5. Support the public service role of journalists in society and the sustainability of news media

Professional Competence
By the end of the program, students can design, research, and produce journalistic outputs (print, broadcast, online, multimedia) that meet industry standards for accuracy, clarity, and timeliness.
Students can effectively use digital tools and platforms to create professional journalistic content.
Public Good Orientation
Students can frame journalistic stories to highlight issues of public concern and propose solutions that foster civic engagement.
Students can evaluate the social impact of their reporting and adjust content to serve community needs responsibly.
Critical and Ethical Practice
Students can identify ethical dilemmas in journalism and apply professional codes of ethics to resolve them.
Students can critically analyze media trends and propose responsible practices in response to emerging challenges (e.g., disinformation, AI-generated content).
Knowledge Generation and Scholarship
Students can conduct independent research projects that apply appropriate methodologies in journalism studies.
