The BA Journalism program is a four-year undergraduate quota course, with 70 students admitted every year including:
freshmen who passed the UPCAT;
UP students shifting from other courses; and
students transferring from other schools.
The requirements for admission are:
For shiftees a GWA of 2.25, for transferees 1.75; and for all applicants: passing an essay examination.
A weight of 50% shall be given to GWA and another 50% for the essay.
The MA Journalism program aims to advance the knowledge and skills of practicing journalists in the light of new technologies and complexities in the field. It also offers speciailized reporting courses, such as Science Reporting and Investigative Reporting.
The MA Media Studies program aims to advance Journalism studies and develop the teaching of Journalism.
