Invite eminent world experts in the academe, government, and industry, Filipino or foreign, to give special lectures/performances in UP in large highly publicized convocations or conferences; and
Expose and inspire UP students, faculty, and staff to the achievements of the world expert.
ELIGIBILITY
Individuals who are eligible to apply for the grant are limited to Permanent UP Faculty, Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS), and Staff Members. They may apply for the grant twice a year. However, applying for multiple grants for a single event simultaneously is strictly prohibited.
Furthermore, if an applicant's unit already has a pending submission of reports, such as liquidation, the applicant is not eligible to apply for the grant until the previous grantee has completed the necessary documentation.

FACE-TO-FACE EVENTS
Official letter of invitation to the world expert by the UP Faculty/Staff and an acceptance letter by the world expert.
A proposed budget must also be submitted using WELS Annex A - Face-to-face Lectures, along with a copy of the WHO/UNDP DSA per diem rates, which can be accessed through this link: https://apps.who.int/bfi/tsy/PerDiem.aspx Additionally, a copy of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas exchange rate must be submitted, which can be accessed through this link: http://www.bsp.gov.ph/statistics/sdds/exchrates.html
Furthermore, the curriculum vitae of the world expert, with 2 - 3 pages, and the first pages of the enumerated selected publications (maximum of 10 publications/minimum of 10 h-index) must be provided.
2. VIRTUAL EVENTS
A clear and recent 1x1 ID picture of the invited expert in PNG format must be provided, as well as an official letter of invitation to the world expert by the UP Faculty/Staff and an acceptance letter by the world expert.
A proposed budget must also be submitted using WELS Annex A - Virtual Lectures. In addition, a resource fee computation based on DBM 2007-01 Budget Circular 2007-1, “Guidelines on the Grant of Honoraria” must be included.
The curriculum vitae of the world expert, with 2 - 3 pages, and the first pages of the enumerated selected publications (maximum of 10 publications/minimum of 10 h-index) must be provided.
GRANT COVERAGE
FACE-TO-FACE EVENTS
The grant coverage includes support for air travel, specifically round-trip economy airfare. Additionally, there will be a per diem allowance for one week based on the WHO/UNDP-DSA Rate.
For accommodations, 50% of the cost will be covered, inclusive of breakfast. As for meals, 30% of the expenses for lunch and dinner for the expert will be covered, while 20% of the incidental expenses of the expert, which includes local transportation, will be reimbursed.
Furthermore, if necessary, other operating expenses such as the rental of a function hall, food for the lecture participants, and printing of tarpaulins can be covered up to a maximum amount of ₱50,000.00.
Please note that these provisions are subject to the terms and conditions of the grant, and the expenses must be necessary and reasonable in relation to the grant project.
2. VIRTUAL EVENTS
The grant coverage for virtual lectures includes a resource fee for the invited speaker/s or expert/s, as well as a professional host/emcee. The computation formula indicated in the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Budget Circular 2007-1, "Guidelines on the Grant of Honoraria," will be used as a guide in determining the appropriate amount.
In addition, a resource fee will also be provided for the technical and support staff, with a maximum of three members, who will provide assistance in hosting the conference or lecture. The rates for the technical and support staff will follow the stipulations in Memorandum No. CGCG 05-06, "Implementation of New Honoraria Rates."
Moreover, other operating expenses necessary for the production and conduct of the virtual lecture will be covered, such as communication expenses, outsourced services, web hosting, maintenance fee, and other related expenses. The maximum amount that can be covered for these expenses is ₱50,000.00.
Please take note that these provisions are subject to the terms and conditions of the grant and must be necessary and reasonable in relation to the virtual lecture project.
NOTE
Any form of TOKEN and HONORARIA, are not allowed and must not be included in the proposed estimated budget.
