Established in 1952, the Institute of Public Administration Library now known as the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) Library is the leading UP unit library in the field of public administration providing bibliographic and information support to the teaching, research, and extension functions of the College. It envisions to be a state-of-the-art resource hub to the NCPAG and the nation as well, being the center of excellence in public administration and governance.
Mission
As partner of the College in its three-fold function of teaching, research and extension services, the NCPAG Library's mission is to provide: (a) the best possible access to information resources in support of its evolving curriculum, research thrusts and extension programs; and (b) the best possible information services through the use of the new information and communication technologies (ICTs) as applied in libraries.
Goals
As an academic resource center, the College Library will constantly work to maximize its effectiveness in accomplishing its mission: (a) electing, acquiring, organizing, managing and preserving information resources in a broad range of formats; (b) recruiting, developing, and training a competent staff to design and deliver information services using various technologies; (c) Maintaining and providing access to state-of-the-art information technology to meet current and changing information needs of its users; (d) creating a physical environment with inviting, comfortable and secure spaces conducive for study, research and work.
