how we find biological anthropology today. . .
as biological anthropology became more prominent through the years and have contributed greatly to our discovery of the human evolution and knowing how our ancestors lived, it has also contributed greatly to modern medicine, and various types of scientific research. Although there was a time where biological anthropology became a foundation for discrimination, yet this built a building block for us to rather let our differences in genes separate us, this became a way for us to use our differences to join us and connect us with other people.
biological anthropology in the modern world
Race is a typological leftover that is neither a useful nor an appropriate biological concept. • Human variation is clinal. Age is also included in a big part of human variation. Because development of body and organs contribute a big part in our physical and mental maturity. Humans also have a very unique trait called reproductive senescence where their capability to reproduce declines over time, and this also affects how human population growth works.
Reproduction and their adaptation to certain environments and diets are some examples of how humans adapt over time. Our species is a big subject to change, that we cannot deny. Some of the traits we need to adapt to often have to deal with our environment and surroundings, but some are also genetic, which are sometimes inherited and irreversible. Biological changes that are associated with adaptation are the ones who maintain homeostasis. These factors that we need to adapt to are often big parts in our evolution.
The present as a foundation for the past. . .
Everything that happens around us all have implications on how we evolved in the past. I am glad I am one of the few who the privilege to study biological anthropology even if it's through online class and I could barely get by my lectures. I hope biological anthropology or even anthropology in itself will be empowered in this country and to our youth, most people here can look at the social sciences as easy subjects just because they are part of the said "soft" sciences. Which is in a sense untrue, the studies within social sciences has also contributed greatly to how the world and has become and how we figure out ourselves and how we figure out our plants for the future.
