Healthcare-associated infection (HAI) rates remain high in the ICU; however, the overall trend shows a gradual decrease. Continued vigilance is essential. Regular monitoring and rounds will be conducted by HICU and IPC link nurses to reinforce adherence to IPC practices and sustain improvements.
There is a high incidence of needlestick injuries, particularly among students and in the ER and OR settings. All personnel are reminded to adhere to standard precautions, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during procedures, ensure proper disposal of sharps, and comply with recommended vaccinations. Immediate reporting of any needlestick or splash exposure is strongly emphasized to ensure timely management and follow-up.
