Healthcare workers must complete the following IPC requirements prior to clinical deployment:
IPC Training and Certificate of Completion
Face-to-face training is required for newly onboarded staff.
Annual re-certification is recommended, in accordance with institutional IPC standards.
Tuberculosis screening: chest X-ray and symptom review
Those with prior TB treatment should present proof of treatment completion and a negative sputum smear, culture, or Xpert MTB/Rif result.
Symptomatic individuals or those with abnormal chest X-ray findings must be assessed by an ID physician prior to clinical deployment.
Immunization Record and Proof of Immunity for required vaccines (unless medically contraindicated)
Missing, unclear, or unverifiable records will require repeat vaccination or serologic testing, as appropriate
For details, please refer to the section on the Required and Recommended Vaccines for healthcare workers below.
Conditional clearance may be granted to individuals who have initiated but not yet completed the required vaccination series subject to strict adherence to the recommended vaccination schedule, and temporary restrictions until full immunization or documented immunity is achieved.
Hepatitis B: limit from exposure-prone procedures; strict adherence to glove use and Standard Precautions
MMR/Varicella: avoid assignment to nurseries, pediatric and neonatal wards, hematology-oncology unit, cancer institute, and ICUs
