The Hill We Climb by Amanda Gorman
Gorman depicts America's two conflicting faces of togetherness and division in her poem. The poem acknowledges America as a wounded but not broken nation. It also describes the country's progress as a painful "climb." Change in America will take time, patience, and humility. The poem's objective is to motivate readers to be bold and be the hope others need.
