Even with the perceived importance of ICT in education, it is still unparalleled to some of the teachers’ perceptions. The idea that it prepares learners in the modern technological world remains unclear to everyone, particularly, among traditional teachers. However, due to the Covid-19, most teachers have realized, that making almost every learning integrated with ICT was possible. Hence, minds are becoming less hesitant and becomes accepting towards change in education.
EDUCATORS ON ICT
How do educators view ICT and how do they use it in their classrooms?

The world is rapidly changing, and this is inevitable. It is inherent to us human beings to find modern ways how we could make our lives better and easier. The human brain is gifted with ideas and creative inventions that we could make those ideas into a reality. Information Communication Technology (ICT) has offered innovations, which is one of the keys to development that make our world smaller because of the convenience of communication.
ICT is a vital component in the classroom setting because it offers ways for teachers, especially the Science teachers, in teaching topic that needs to be projected to the students visually. For example, on the topic of photosynthesis, I explain it through the application of video-based instruction (vbi) and other virtual laboratory applications. The visuals supplement the discussion which makes it easier for me to explain it. Additionally, I also utilize different ICT applications inside the classroom to make the discussion more interactive and fun.
Aside from that, I make use also of online platforms such as google classroom to help me monitor students’ performance and output in an organized way. Moreover, I sometimes use flickers and zip grades to easily check students’ quizzes and exams.
With all of these, it can therefore be said that ICT inside the classroom is of huge help in many aspects. It helps minimize piles of unchecked papers and gives more time to the teacher to focus on instruction.
As a teacher with Gen Z students, ICT has become a substantial tool for connecting with my students. For learners who are digital citizens, ICT is a great instrument for creating learning packs that would suit their interests and would catch their attention. With ample knowledge in the whats and hows of it, promising results yield.
In my classroom, I use ICT in many ways, most especially in the delivery of the lessons. Students of today are known to have a short attention span, hence they get easily bored. With ICT, I can employ effective and varied activities that would catch their attention and would help them learn better. For example in my virtual classes, I make sure to make them lively and fun by using educational and interactive websites. So far, I have used Quizizz, Mentimeter, Slido and Kahoot. I am exploring more because I can see its positive effect on my classes
ICT has emerged to play a central part in this new normal education. Truth be told, we are becoming dependent on it. With ICT, education is becoming more learner-centered and also promotes independent learning.
My views on ICT and how I employ it in the classroom are nothing different from the two educators I interviewed. All of us agreed that we use ICT to deliver and further the information of our students. We also use it to make our classes interesting and engaging by employing virtual simulations, mobile applications, and many others. Additionally, we integrated ICT as it connects us to our students. We get their attention with ICT integration since students now are digital individuals.
Indeed, we use ICT not just as a tool to give information but also as our ally. With ICT, I don’t feel alone as a teacher, I felt like I brought my troops with me.

ICT roles in the teachers
I have learned that we should learn with ICT, not from ICT. With most of my discussions, I used ICT to provide knowledge to my students. I thought that using this as a vehicle to present information would interest them in my class. Little did I realize that, that students learn better if they themselves are engaged with learning. ICT should be the students' partner in learning and the teacher's ally to facilitate learning.
