Ako ini!

I am Helner, 23, a proud Kamayo from Surigao del Sur. Bong is my nickname, but you can call me “Ner”. I have just recently practiced my profession and am now two-year in service—1 year at a State University, and also a year and counting at a Public Secondary School

Kita mayo ang Lamdag (We are the light). I have always considered the teachers to be the bearers of a torch. We are the light that illuminates the lives of many; the light that gives knowledge; and the light that radiates hope.

Noblest but underrated—that’s how most people see our profession. Lest people forget, we truly are the professional makers.

Paninguha Duyog Paningkamot

With numerous paths to be taken, I chose to walk the path of the noble professionals—teachers. I went to Philippine Normal University-Mindanao, the Country’s National Center for Teacher Education, and took up Bachelor in Science Education with Specialization in Physics.

The four-year stay was never easy. It made me question my strengths and made me think if I am fit for my dream profession. Nonetheless, with hard work, I survived and graduated with flying colors.

Breakouts? I’ve had many. Sleepless nights? Those were countless. The thing is, I am now a TEACHER.

Pagtudlo

Truth, Excellence, and Service. These are core values of my university which I also uphold as I combat the real battle.

I had my first experience as a licensed professional teacher at one of the universities in Surigao del Sur. A year later, I was given a regular position at the Department of Education (DepEd), as part of our scholarship benefits from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

With all those experiences, I truly commit to serving honesty while at the same time radiating excellence in my service. Being a newbie in the industry is unparalleled to mediocrity. I believe that excellence is not just a skill, but also an attitude and a mindset.
