The Procurement Management Office (PMO), in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO), conducted the Procurement Planning Workshop for Admin and Supply Officers on June 27-28, 2024 at Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay City.
The 2-day workshop’s objective is to prepare and finalize the Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) of the respective offices and colleges for CY 2025. Dir. Melody Jane L. Rojo of the Procurement Management office welcomed the participants on the first day of the workshop and set the expectations and agenda for the workshop. She emphasized the importance of accomplishing a detailed and ideally, an error-free PPMP to maintain the good reputation of the University in government procurement.
To achieve the main objective of the workshop, GPPB Recognized Trainer and the Chief of Budget Office, Ms. Lovelle C. Saguid, discussed the Procurement Planning and Budget Linkage that served as the foundation for the participants in preparing their outputs. Ms. Saguid also leaves the floor open for inquiries and clarifications during the duration of her talk, as the administrative staff from the PMO also assists in explaining the processes to the participants.
The Information Management Service (IMS) Administrative Officer, Mr. Noriel S. Nulud, also provided a brief orientation and reminders related to requests involving various software and devices, as well as subscriptions to relevant systems or programs. He emphasized the importance of requesting reasonable items and its specifications in accordance with existing procurement guidelines.
The workshop also covered guidelines in creating the IPPMP 2025 in the UIS, assisted by Public Procurement Specialist Level 1, Ms. Kathlin-Kaye T. Hidalgo. Participants were tasked to accomplish the respective PPMP in preparation for a presentation of indicative per PPMP 2025 common use items per college/unit.
The first day of the workshop was capped of with the individual presentations of the drafts of PPMP to a panel constituted by Ms. Lovelle C. Saguid, Ms. Kathlin-Kaye T. Hidalgo, and Ms. Sheila Marie C. Bustamante, who gave their feedback to the presenters on the spot to allow them to make the necessary changes before the submission of the plans.
The second day of the workshop culminated with the preparation and presentation of indicative PPMP 2025 non-common use items. Feedbacks from panels, Dir. Melody Jane L. Rojo, Ms. Kathlin-Kaye T. Hidalgo, and Ms. Sheila Marie C. Bustamante, were also given to presenters to apply the necessary changes to their outputs before the submission of their plans.
