ABOUT UPM SPROUT
SPROUT is UP Manila HRDO’s Onboarding Program for employees which aims to help the new Admin and REPS understand UP Manila’s vision, mission, and values. The program will walk the employees through the key processes, policies, and procedures of the University, as well as the benefits and privileges that they are entitled with. In the same way, they are oriented towards the expected quality of performance of duties and behaviors to maintain the standards of the University. The knowledge and skills obtained from the program will serve as fundamentals of the employees throughout their stay in the University.
Three Parts of UPM SPROUT
The Online Courses include 8 basic modules that employees must read and understand before taking the mandatory assessment within their first two (2) weeks of employment. It includes information about the University, policies, personnel, and the different sections of the Human Resource Development Office. Satisfactory completion of the first 8 modules grants the employee a Certificate of Completion of the Onboarding Program. The ninth (9th) module, Gender Sensitivity Training and tenth (10th) module, Excellence in Frontline Service, are mandatory training programs that employees must take within their first three (3) months of employment in the University. These training programs grant an employee two certificates of completion respectively once the minimum requirements are met.
Assessment includes a short post-test on the courses that employees are expected to take. There is one assessment for each module to ensure the understanding of the courses taken.
The results of the assessments will be emailed by the HRDO Learning and Development Section. Employees who accomplish all the assessments in the SPROUT Onboarding Program will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Steps to Finish SPROUT
Register to the Onboarding Program.
Visit the Courses page and read through the Onboarding Program modules.
Take the Assessments after reading through each module in the Courses page.
Receive an email acknowledgment from the L&D section regarding the results of the once completed. A certificate of completion for SPROUT Onboarding Program will be sent via email.
The New Employee Orientation Program (NEOP) is part of the employee onboarding cycle of the University of the Philippines Manila that is spearheaded by the Human Resource Development Office. It enables employees to be oriented of the internal processes, systems, and activities in the University. Employees are encouraged to attend this face-to-face program to find out more about how they can better appreciate their employment and how the University can also contribute to their holistic development. The contents and topics covered in the NEOP are not in the SPROUT Onboarding Program.
