Efficient and continuous quality service is crucial for public institutions. Essential to this is the ability for public servants to produce complete work that analyze and address challenges encountered at work. In line with the commitment of UP Manila to operational efficiency and productivity, the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) of the held a one-day live out training session to further enhance this capability. HRDO conducted Completed Staff Work (CSW) Training particularly for 35 designated employees— supervisors, administrative officers, and Research, Extension, & Professional Staff (REPS).
The CSW training took place at Dr. Joaquin Gonzales Hall 3/F NTTC-HP Auditorium on May 8th, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The university invited Mr. Pepito Dizon, affectionately known as Sir Peps, to lead the training. Sir Peps is a University Extension Specialist at the UP National Engineering Center. He is also currently a member of the Technical Working Group and is tasked with crafting the UP Strategic Plan 2023-2029.
Participants were introduced to the concept of Completed Staff Work, its importance, principles, and usage. Sir Peps shared his expertise and also gave the participants opportunities to likewise share their valuable insights on CSW.
The participants were grouped and were tasked to brainstorm collaboratively to create hypothetical scenarios to find the root cause and come up with solutions by using the methods discussed by the speaker. Each group assigned a representative to present their respective outputs and Mr. Dizon gave feedback that allowed the participants to learn from one another.
As they were introduced to the concept of Completed Staff Work, all groups were able to show and apply the practical importance of delivering fully developed solutions and recommendations to superiors through the interactive activities during the CSW training.
The University of the Philippines Manila remains steadfast in its commitment in providing quality service by equipping its public servants, employees, and staff with opportunities of professional development as well as skills to perform their duly assigned duties as public servants.
