DISASTER
is the serious disruption of the functioning of a community or a society brought about by the interaction of a hazard to exposure, vulnerability, and capacity of a community
DISASTER RISK
Potential loss of life, extent of injury, damage or destruction of assets in a system or community as probably result of the interaction of hazards, exposure, vulnerability, and capacity
VULNERABILITY
is the susceptibility of an individual, community, assets, or systems to be affected by the impacts of hazards
EXPOSURE
EXPOSURE
The proximity of people, infrastructure, housing, capacities and other human assets to the location of hazard prone areas
CAPACITY
is the combination of strengths, attributes, and resources that will help individuals or community prepare, become responsive, and recover from impacts of hazards and the long-term effects of disasters
