Biodiversity-Integrated Omics and Sustainable Pharmaceutical Health Exploration Research Environment (BIOSPHERE) is an interdisciplinary research group focused on natural product–driven drug discovery through the study of terrestrial, freshwater, and marine biodiversity. The group integrates biodiversity science, conservation, and environmental research with pharmaceutical science, nanomedicine, and translational biomedical research to identify novel bioactive compounds and therapeutic leads.
Based at Mindanao State University–General Santos, BIOSPHERE brings together BS Biology (Animal Biology, Biodiversity, and Microbiology) and MS Biology students in a unified research pipeline spanning sustainable bioprospecting, bioactivity screening, and preclinical validation. Guided by conservation, One Health, and Planetary Health principles, the group advances biomedical innovation while promoting environmental stewardship and capacity building in interdisciplinary biological research.
