On August 28, 2024, the Office of the Chancellor, with the recommendation of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Innovation, designated Dr. John Paul S. Tosoc as the new Supervisor of the Nutraceutical Laboratory in addition to his regular academic duties and responsibilities.
As such, Dr. Tosoc shall supervise and oversee the income generation of the facility mentioned above and perform other duties and functions inherent in the designation. However, his teaching obligations shall take precedence over his functions as Supervisor.
On July 24, 2024, Dr. John Paul S. Tosoc's project proposal titled "Establishment of the Biomedical Research Institute for Global Health Technology (BRIGHT) in Region 12" was particularly highlighted by NEDA 12 and DOST 12 to be included in the Top 10 2026 Annual Investment Plan of Mindanao State University - General Santos during the NEDA Regional Development Council (RDC) 12 Review of Annual Investment Plan at Carpenter Hill, Koronal City. The event was successfully concluded by including the BRIGHT proposal in the Top 10 Priority Projects of the Social Sector in Region 12 to be endorsed by the RDC 12 in the EXECOM the following day.
On February 27-28, 2023, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) - University of the Philippines Manila will be celebrating its 25th founding anniversary with the theme, “Transforming Philippine Health Systems Towards Universal Healthcare through Research Partnerships". This event will be held at the University of the Philippines Bonifacio Global City, 32nd St., Taguig City
