Professor Dr Shin-ichi Ago
AGO Shin-ichi is Professor Emeritus and former Dean of the Faculty of Law, Kyushu University, Japan, Former Director of the Kyoto Museum for World Peace and Professor at Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto. He received both his LL.B. and LL.M. from the University of Tokyo and obtained his Doctorat ès Sciences Politiques from the University of Geneva. From 2013 to 2022, he was Judge at the Asian Development Bank Administrative Tribunal and since 2015, he is a member of the ILO’s Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations. He is also a member of the International Law Association, Asian Society of International Law, International Society for Labour and Social Security Law.

Associate Professor E. (Leo) Dacumos Battad
Prof Battad is an Associate Professor at the UP College of Law, WEP Faculty Member, Program Director of the Gender Law and Policy Program of the UP College of Law, and a Member of the Philippine Judicial Academy Faculty of Human Rights. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service, and Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and her Master of Laws (LLM) from Yale University, School of Law. She teaches courses in Labor Law and Human Rights Theory and Practice in the Juris Doctor Program and International Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law in the Master of Laws Program. She is also a faculty member of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Department of the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA). She served as Labor Law Bar Examiner during the 2020/21 Bar Exam. A human rights advocate, she is a member of the Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG), a national human rights legal organization.

Professor Ravi Chandran
Ravi is a lawyer by training. He graduated from Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore in 1991 and obtained a Masters in Law from University of Cambridge in 1995. He has published widely in the area of Employment Law and is an author of 4 books in that area. His works have been cited in more than 15 court judgements. He was also the past president of the Asian Society of Labour Law Scholars. He teaches both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level and, runs executive education programmes as well. He has won several awards for his teaching and was in the Executive Committee of the NUS Teaching Academy from 2016 to 2020. He was also the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies, from 2012 to June 2024.

Professor Dr Chin-Chin Cheng
Professor Chin-Chin Cheng is a Professor of Law at National Chung Cheng University (CCU), where she directs the Center for ASEAN and South Asia Studies and the Law 4.0 Research Center. A former Associate Dean of the CCU College of Law and former Chair of the Department of Law, she has served as President of both the Asian Society of Labour Law and the Taiwan Labour Law Association, and as a Commissioner at Taiwan’s Council of Labor Affairs. Her public service spans the Ministry of Labor’s Minimum Wage Review and Appeals committees and numerous national and local panels on employment discrimination, gender equality, sexual-harassment prevention, and administrative appeal. Professor Cheng was a Senior Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. She holds an LL.B. from Fu Jen Catholic University, an LL.M. from the University of Georgia, and a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati, and she has passed the Ohio State Bar Examination. Her research and teaching focus on labor law and policy, employment equality, and legal ethics.

Professor Richard Anthony (Rick) Glofcheski
Prof Glofcheski obtained his BA at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada, his LLB at University of Windsor, Canada, and his LLM at Cambridge University, England. After practising law in Canada, mainly in civil litigation, and conducting legal research and law reform in West Africa, he joined the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong. His primary areas of teaching and research are tort law, labour/employment law and higher education. He has also taught criminal law, contract law, legal system, and medical law. He is the author of Tort Law in Hong Kong (Hong Kong: Sweet and Maxwell Asia, 5th edn, 2023, 900 pp), co-editor and co-author of Employment Law and Practice in Hong Kong (Sweet & Maxwell Asia, 2nd edn, 2016, 950 pp), and co-editor and co-author of Scaling Up Assessment for Learning in Higher Education (Springer, 2017). He was awarded the Faculty Research Prize 2010 for Employment Law and Practice in Hong Kong (1st edn, 2010). He is the Editor-in-Chief of Hong Kong Law Journal. In recognition of his achievements, Rick was awarded the inaugural HKU University Outstanding Teaching Award (2009), the HKU University Distinguished Teaching Award (2010 and 2015), and the inaugural sector-wide University Grants Committee Teaching Excellence Award (2011). Rick has presented his work at conferences, workshops and seminars at universities around the world.

Emeritus Professor Kozo Kagawa
Professor Kagawa is an Emeritus Professor at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies in Kobe University, Japan. Besides Labour Law, he has taught Social Security Law, Asian Law, and International Cooperation in different universities in Japan. Professor Kagawa obtained his undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo. He then pursued two graduate degrees at the Graduate Schools for Law and Political Sciences in the same University. He worked as Minister at Japanese Embassy in Vietnam. Professor Kagawa has conducted research for multiple Japanese universities (Doshisha University, University of Toyama, Kobe University, Osaka Jogakuin University) and has numerous publications in the form of papers, books, and articles.

Professor Dr Cheng Liu
Dr LIU Cheng is a Professor Emeritus at Shanghai Normal University Faculty of Law and Politics, teaching labour and employment law, social security law, labour policy, as well as Anglo-American legal history. He was the President of the AsianSLL from 2012 to 2014, and he is the Vice President of the China Social Law Studies Society. He earned his Master’s degree in Economics from Renmin University School of Business in 1996, and he earned his Juris Doctor degree from Peking University in 2002. Since then, Professor Liu has published two books both independently, two books jointly, and multiple academic articles.

H.E. Chantola Ly
H.E. LY Chantola has been elected as President of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia (“BAKC”) for two consecutive terms, 2020-2022 and 2022-2024 respectively. Under his leadership, BAKC has been able to increase the number of female lawyers including those coming from marginalized group.
In 1999, Atty LY obtained his bachelor degree in Private Law from the Royal University of Law and Economics. Due to his outstanding academic performance, he received a scholarship from the French Government to pursue his LLB and LLM in Private Law at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University from 2000 to 2002.
Upon returning to Cambodia, he has devoted his time in academia as an adjunct professor of law and in private legal practices. Both paths have earned him recognition as a well-known legal figure in Cambodia. He has been invited as a distinguished speaker in numerous workshops and conferences focusing on law and policy.
Since 2009 he has been appointed by the King as a member of the Council of Jurists of the Office of the Council of Minister and later its Vice-President. He also serves as a government attorney representing the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Professor Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod
Prof Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal bin Nik Mahmod was born in Batu Pahat, Johor, on 2nd September 1962. He has four children. Prof. Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) from the University of Malaya (1986), a Master of Laws from King's College, University of London (1988), and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland (1995). He also has an Advanced Diploma in Shariah Law and Practice from IIUM (1997). He began his career at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as an academic staff member in 1986 and has since retired from the university upon reaching the compulsory retirement age. He joined the School of Law and Governance at Taylor’s University on contract from February 2023 until February 2025. He is now with the Faculty of Law, Multimedia University, the Malacca campus. At IIUM, he held various administrative positions at the university and the faculty, including Deputy Rector, Legal Adviser, Dean, and Deputy Dean. At Taylor, he oversees research activities. He is currently with the Faculty of Law, Multimedia University, Malacca. He is a member of the Legal Profession Qualifying Board (LPQB) sub-committee, and is also involved in the committee to draft the new curriculum for the Bar Examination to replace the CLP.
At IIUM, he taught Industrial Relations Law and Law Research Methodology, Dissertation, Constitutional law, the Malaysian Legal System, Criminal law, and Criminal Liability in Healthcare. At Taylors he taught Constitutional Law, and Research Methodology. At MMU he is teaching Law of Torts. He researched in those subjects and has published articles in local and international journals. Prof Nik Ahmad Kamal has completed four Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education. Three of the grants were obtained as the principal researcher. He had co-authored textbooks on labor law entitled “Employment Law in Malaysia” and, most recently, an e-monograph on “Employment and Industrial Relations Law” published by Wolters Kluwer. He also co-authored “Statutory Interpretation in Malaysia,” published in 2023. The second edition of “Administrative Law in Malaysia,” which he was a co-author, was published in 2022. He is currently the chief editor of the Journal of the Malaysian Parliament. He chaired two committees involved in the amendment to the Acts of Parliament under the Ministry of Higher Education in 2012 and 2014, the University and University Colleges 1971 and the Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1997. He is actively involved with the National Professors Council of Malaysia and has been the Head of the Cluster for Governance, Law, and Public Management since its inception in 2012. He is also a Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO), commissioned by the Malaysian Anti-corruption Agency (MACC) in 2015. He is also appointed by the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as a Commissioner of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) effective 1st July 2020 until 30th June 2022. He received the award for the best research in 2006 at the Kulliyyah. He co-authored an article that won the Emerald Literati Network Award for Outstanding Paper 2009, published in a journal. The University awarded him “Tokoh Akademik IIUM” 2020 during the Takrim (salutation/honor) Day of 2020. He was appointed by the Hon. Prime Minister as a panel member of the “Perundingan dan Pencegahan Rasuah (PR)” of the Malaysian Anti-corruption Commission (MACC) for two years from July 2022 until June 2024. He was also on the MACC’s committee that finalized the National Anti-Corruption Strategies (NACS). The NACS was launched recently.

Dr Nguyễn Lê Thu is a Lecturer at the Department of Business Law, School of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She obtained her doctorate in law from Vrijie Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2019, master's degree in law from Leicester University in 2006, and bachelor's degree in international law from the Institute for International Relations in 2004. Professor Dr Panthip Pruksacholavit
Panthip Pruksacholavit joined Chulalongkorn University in 2014 and is currently an Associate Professor. Her research interests focus on Labor and Employment Law. Panthip serves as a Series Editor for Sweet and Maxwell’s Thai Law Book Series. She also contributed to International Labor and Employment Laws, published by the American Bar Association, and authored Thai labor law textbooks, including Workmen's Compensation Law in Thailand and Thai Labor Protection Law. Panthip was a visiting professor and scholar at several prestigious institutions, including National Taiwan University, the University of Warsaw, and Seoul National University. She is a member of the LLRN’s Steering Committee and led the LLRN7 Organizing Committee. She is also a committee member of the Thai Society of Labor Law.

Professor Dr Kamala Sankaran
Prof. Sankaran comes with a rich teaching experience from across various premier institutions in the country. She has previously served as the Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli, as Professor at the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, and as Research Professor, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi.
She is a recipient of the Fulbright Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Georgetown University Law Center, Washington D.C. She has also been a Visiting South Asian Research Fellow, School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies, Oxford University, and a Fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study, South Africa.

Dr Trang Tran
Lecturer in Law, Deakin Law School, Deakin University, Australia
Trang Tran is a Lecturer in Law at Deakin Law School, Deakin University, and an alumna of the European Research Council’s ChainGE Lab. She previously taught at Monash University and Hanoi Law University.
Her research adopts a socio-legal, empirical, and comparative lens to examine labour law and labour regulation in global value chains across different regulatory levels. Her geographical focus is on Vietnam and East and Southeast Asian countries. She is particularly interested in how workers utilise digital tools to advance their activism and strengthen their positions in labour dispute resolution and strikes.
