Prof. Dr. Najmadeen Mohammed Saeed
Prof. Dr. Najmadeen Mohammed Saeed is a distinguished academic in civil and structural engineering. He currently teaches in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Raparin. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil/Structural Engineering with high honors from Cardiff University (UK) in 2014, following his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Structural Engineering from the University of Sulaimani in 2002 and 2010, respectively.
Prof. Dr. Najmadeen has made substantial contributions to the advancement of structural engineering, with 62 publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed international journals. His research portfolio encompasses a wide range of advanced and interrelated topics, including the Force Method, Prestress Analysis, Displacement Control, Structural Optimization, Deployable Structures, Structural Morphology, Foldable and Pantographic Structures, Geometric Nonlinearity, Cable Structures, Cable Net Optimization, and Shape Optimization. His work also covers the development of nonlinear prestressing techniques, simultaneous shape and force control in pin-jointed structures, optimization of actuator placement, morphing structures, advanced concrete composites, sustainable construction materials, and seismic retrofitting and structural health monitoring, reflecting a robust integration of theoretical modeling with practical engineering solutions.
