Paper Submission Guidelines
Authors whose abstracts are accepted are invited to submit full papers for presentation and post-conference publication consideration.
1. Paper Length
Word limit: 4,000–6,000 words
(including notes and references)
Practice-based papers may include documentation or reflective sections within the word limit.
2. Language
Papers must be written in English.
Authors are responsible for linguistic clarity and academic quality.
3. Formatting Guidelines
File format: MS Word (.doc / .docx)
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
Line spacing: 1.5
Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
Page numbers: Bottom centre or bottom right
4. Structure of the Paper
Papers should include:
Title of the paper
Author name(s) and affiliation(s)
Abstract (150–200 words)
Keywords 4–6
Main body of the paper (in IMRDC format with clear headings/subheadings)
Works Cited
5. Citation and Referencing Style
All papers must follow MLA style of citation (latest edition).
In-text citations should use the author–page format.
A complete Works Cited list must be included at the end of the paper.
Authors are responsible for accuracy and consistency in citations.
6. Figures, Tables, and Media
Figures, tables, musical examples, and images should be clearly labelled and referenced in the text.
Authors must ensure copyright clearance for any images, musical notations, or media included.
Audio/video links (if any) should be provided as external URLs.
7. Originality and Ethics
Submissions must be original and unpublished.
Papers should not be under consideration elsewhere.
Proper acknowledgment of sources, communities, and performers is required, especially for ethnographic and practice-based research.
8. Review and Publication
Selected and peer-reviewed papers presented at OIC 2026 will be considered for post-conference publication in internationally indexed journals and edited volumes, subject to further review and journal guidelines.
9. Submission Process
Papers must be submitted through the online paper submission portal on the conference website.
Email submissions will not be accepted.
Submission deadlines will be announced on the website.
**Important Note
Submission of a full paper implies the author’s consent to:
Present the paper at OIC 2026, and
Allow the organisers to consider the paper for post-conference publication.
