Welcome to my Academic Activities page. Here, I share my passion for teaching, research, and lifelong learning. As an Associate Professor, I am committed to providing high-quality education, mentoring future leaders, advancing research, and continuously improving myself as a scholar and educator.
Teaching is at the core of my academic career. I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment for my students. My teaching philosophy centres on fostering critical thinking, encouraging active participation, and connecting theoretical knowledge with practical applications. I teach a variety of courses, including:
Concrete Mechanics
Structural Analysis
Higher Education Leadership
Through my lectures, I aim to inspire students to explore the depths of their subjects, challenge their assumptions, and develop a lifelong love for learning.
Mentoring the next generation of scholars is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I supervise PhD and Master’s students, guiding them through their research projects and helping them achieve their academic and professional goals. My mentorship approach is personalized, focusing on each student’s strengths and areas for growth. I encourage my mentees to think critically, conduct rigorous research, and contribute original ideas to their fields of study.
Research is a driving force in my academic journey. I am deeply involved in several research projects that span civil engineering and higher education. My work on the tensile and compressive creep of young concrete has contributed to advancements in concrete mechanics, while my studies on higher education quality in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq aim to inform policy and improve educational outcomes.
Collaboration is key to advancing research, and I have had the privilege of working with esteemed colleagues and institutions worldwide. These collaborations have enriched my research and expanded my perspectives, allowing me to contribute to a global community of scholars.
Throughout my career, I have been honoured to receive various awards and recognition for my contributions to both civil engineering and higher education. These accolades serve as a testament to my dedication and the impact of my work. They motivate me to continue striving for excellence and making meaningful contributions to my fields.
I believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I am committed to continuously improving myself as a scholar and educator. Staying updated with the latest research, exploring new teaching methodologies, and embracing digital transformation in education are just a few ways I pursue lifelong learning. My curiosity and passion for knowledge drive me to keep pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons.
