Assessment Plan Peer Review

Brief Summary of Peer Review Process

This process is done through a Qualtrics Survey sent to the Academic Assessment Committee the Spring semester after plans are submitted. The Committee is asked to submit the following information to the Office of Academic Assessment. The Office of Academic Assessment then compiles the peer review data and provides the anonymous feedback to the programs.

Instructions for Reviewers

Please rate the report on the quality of each of the sections listed below. The items are rated on a scale of 1-4, with 1 = Not Met, 2 = Met-with concern, 3 = Met, and 4 = Met-with recognition. There is also an option to select “N/A” for programs that have recently been created. Please see the rubric for each item for further details. There is also room for comments on each section.

Please keep in mind the philosophy of assessment at UNLV, which is that meaningful assessment is the evaluation of student learning with the intention to improve it. This can take many forms, from focused faculty discussions about student learning, to very complex systems with multiple measures of student learning. The key is to identify the extent to which programs are engaging in ongoing, thoughtful analyses of the attainment of student learning outcomes and an explanation about how they will act on their data.
