Working in Resources
Resources is a storage area for any Schoology material, but it can also be a work area for you. If you've saved your Course Materials to your Personal Resources, you can edit them in this space, and push them into your courses for next year/term when they open. It's important to note that Resources keeps clean "reference" copies of all of your work. If you push a resource into a class, all edits must be done in the class itself. Edits made in Resources will not automatically push out to courses. You can access Resources from anywhere in Schoology through the drop-down menu:
Once in Resources, you can edit existing or add new resources, or you can simply leave your course materials here to access again next time you teach the course. Click "Next" above to go to Adding Resources to Courses, or read more below to share resources with a colleague.
Sharing Resources
If you want to share resources with a colleague (for example, a co-teacher, ITIP team, or a department head), you can create a shared collection. You cannot share your "Home" Collection - you must create an additional collection to share.
Create a new collection:
Once you've created the collection,
Select it on the left-hand side of your screen.
Click "Sharing" to bring up the Share Settings.
Add People, and make sure that you set them to "Can Edit" or "View Only," depending on your preference.
You and your colleagues will now be working on the same resources together-- any changes that you make in Resources will be visible to all members of the group. As with individual resources, though, any changes that you make in Resources will not appear on copies that have already been pushed into a class.
