Children's Mercy Hospital now has a Depression and Anxiety in Youth (DAY) Clinic. Parents can directly refer their children to this clinic by visiting THIS WEBSITE.
Suicide Prevention and Awareness is one of the most important issues at hand in today's world. We use the evidence-based SOS (Signs of Suicide) Prevention Program to educate our staff and our Middle and Upper School students on how to respond if they or someone they know is contemplating suicide.
Our social worker and counselors are also trained to use the Columbia - Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) to identify a student's risk of suicide.
We are very fortunate to partner with several community mental health agencies to support our students' mental health. If you are interested in your student working with a therapist from one of these agencies, please contact Brianne Phillips at PhillipsB@universityacademy.org.
