The main goal was to introduce space syntax as theory and analysis tools in Algeria and create a platform where both well-established and young researchers meet with scholars in the field. This event was a great success by the important attendance, mainly of doctoral students coming from different universities. Thus, this second workshop(Feb.16-17,2020) aims to tackle a topic of great importance urban open spaces which is the heart of urban life (streets, squares, gardens…), in terms of quality assessment approaches. All the invited speakers are leading researchers in the field, this will give the opportunity to doctoral students as well researchers to be in contact with them through the lectures and the meeting sessions that consist of software program training (depthmap), exploring urban space evaluative methods and discussing doctoral students’ work presentations.

In parallel, we are launching a national architecture competition for students and a call for posters inherent to the topic of this event
