The Physical Limnology Laboratory (PhyLL) studies the full spectrum of environmental processes in lakes. It was established in the summer of 2023 within the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, to foster synergies and interdisciplinary collaborations among its members and with an extensive network of international contacts.  

The competences of the PhyLL group are based on the experience gained in the last two decades of research activities in various lakes in Italy and in the world. PhyLL’s researchers focus mainly on physical processes, with a special attention to modelling, but they have developed strong links with experts in other disciplines to obtain an integrated view of lake dynamics.
