Concurrent Enrollment Classes: USC offers many college credit classes AT the school. These classes are taught by USC staff who have a master's degree. Students can take a wide range of college-credit classes during their junior and senior years, if they qualify.
General qualification for college classes (some may have more specific requirements as well:
JUNIORS: At the end of your sophomore year, you are in the top 1/3 of your class and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. An ACT score may be used to replace class rank, if you score high enough.
SENIORS: At the end of your junior year, you are in the top 1/2 of your class and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. An ACT score may be used to replace class rank, if you score high enough.
When you are ready to go to college, you need to have your college transcripts sent directly to the college you will be attending. The only exception is if you are going to a MinnState school- they can pull it in their records, so you just need to let them know which schools you have credits from. Articulated College Credit CTE classes can earn college credits at certain colleges. A list of classes can be found on the link.
PSEO Students who meet admissions requirements in 11th and 12th grade can take classes directly through a college, in person or online. It is still the responsibility of the student to make sure their college classes will also meet high school graduation requirements. 10th graders may be eligible to take one CTE course. The official PSEO statement can be found on the USC Home Page, but you can click on this link here and find out more about PSEO. USC requires students to inform the counselor of their intention to pursue PSEO and complete paperwork by May 15 each year.
