Parkside families,

February is a month full of celebrations and honoring cultures.  Black history month begins February 1st and honors the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans who have helped shape the nation. Black History Month also celebrates the cultural heritage, successes and adversities that are a part of our country's history.  This month also brings us a focus on kindness.  Specifically, February 17th is National Kindness Day!  Random Acts of Kindness Day is a day to celebrate and encourage random acts of kindness. "It's just a day to celebrate kindness and the whole pay it forward mentality."  To encourage you and your students to pay it forward, please take a moment to fill out this form to honor a Parkside staff member.  Sometimes it is the little things that matter and can make someone's day!

BUS IDS

If your child rides a bus, please encourage them to swipe their student IDs when getting on & off the bus.   This is important part of the process if you are also tracking school buses through the app.

8th Grade Only

Families of 8th graders should now be able to see their child's Freshman Course Requests. After logging into Infinite Campus, select Academic Plan from the drop-down menu, then you can click Proceed to see their requests. Changes may be made up to Spring break by reaching out to their counselor.

Yearbooks 22-23

Parkside Pythons! Our Yearbook Production Club is working hard to make us an amazing yearbook this year. We are excited to be back in school for a full-year and have a lot of awesome things going on at PJ that we will be capturing in this year's yearbook. Josten's sends parents emails regularly with a link to buy a yearbook. Be on the look for those and make sure to get your 2022-23 yearbook ordered so you can enjoy all the memories of this unique year.

E Learning Reminders

Parkside's  E-Learning Schedule will allow students to stay warm while learning in the morning, enjoy lunch, then if weather allows, get out there and play in the snow.

Students will join virtual classes synchronously through Google Classrooms. How does attendance work? Students who attend the majority of a virtual, synchronous class will be considered present.

Teachers will provide synchronous learning opportunities through Google Classroom, hosting office hours at the end of the day for students who have a question or need some help.

Kindess Week

NIOS is also sponsoring a Kindness Week 2/13-2/17  This week we will be hosting dress up days and a daily kindness challenge.  More information on this week to come!

Athletics Update

Click to access the new Athletics Update site. The site will have information pertaining to tryouts, upcoming events, and more!

We will still be using 8to18 for all registrations, and posts will still be made on Facebook and Infinite Campus when needed in addition to morning announcements. The goal is to improve communication and provide a place for students and families to get the info they need with a more user-friendly experience on our end, and yours!
