2nd Quarter Learning, Starts 10/19/20

Dear PJHS Students,

I hope you are doing well! We are all very excited to begin the 2nd quarter of the school year! A few weeks ago, your family chose your learning plan for the 2nd quarter. The choices were for you to stay with our current completely remote/from home instruction or choose a hybrid model of both in-person and remote/from home learning.

  • 6th Graders: You will start your new schedule on Monday, October 19th, and you we start in-person learning on that day.

  • 7th & 8th Graders: You will start your new schedule on Monday, October 19th, but you will not come to school in-person until Monday, October 26th.

If your family chose the hybrid learning option, you will come to PJHS two days each week, and you will learn remotely/from home the other three days of each week. This schedule is based on the first letter of your last name. If your last name begins with A-K, you will come to PJHS on Mondays and Thursdays. You will learn remotely on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If your last name begins with L-Z, you will come to PJHS on Tuesdays and Fridays. You will learn remotely on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Every Wednesday all students will have a shortened day so that your teachers have time to plan for this unique way of learning. If your family chose the remote learning only option, then you will not come to PJHS in-person. You will continue to learn from home 5 days a week.

  • Monday and Thursday: Students with last names A-K will attend school in-person.

  • Tuesday and Friday: Students with last names L-Z will attend school in-person.

  • Wednesday: Shortened Day and remote learning for all in-person students.

Please note students who receive IEP services within our Specialized Services (Level 1, 2, and 3) self-contained program will attend school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will also be a remote learning day for these students. All other students who receive special education services - whether through instructional or resource supports, will follow the middle school in-person schedule with two days of in-person learning.

Our goal is to provide you with a learning experience that is a positive, safe, and predictable. Please review our school-wide procedures so that you will know what to do if you are at school.

Take Care,

Mrs. Hesser, PJHS Principal
