Kids Run the Earth
Following the success of the children's running event - KIDs RUN the EARTH in 2023, this year UNIS Hanoi continues to collaborate with the Tay Ho People's Committee and Vu Media to organize the annual running event for children - KIDs RUN the EARTH 2024 with the spirit of running for health and wellness and raising public awareness about limiting the use of vehicles that emit harmful emissions and cause environmental pollution.
At the event, driven by the aspiration to cultivate a sustainable future alongside our young participants, UNIS Hanoi will donate 300 seed-planting kits to the young runners. This thoughtful gift aims to impart important values such as perseverance and initiative to our children. Moreover, it emphasizes the understanding that nurturing a tree not only contributes to greenery but also fosters fresh air and energy for the benefit of humanity.
In addition, UNIS Hanoi will also accompany the Run Organizers in reducing plastic waste into the environment. All single-use plastic bottles and stuff generated during the race after being collected by the volunteers will be cleaned, sorted and transferred to the UNIS Hanoi Recycling Hub and then transferred to the school’s recycling partner to produce useful products from recycled plastic such as tables, chairs, cabinets, trash bins, etc.

"UNIS GROW GREEN": Planting Seeds of Sustainability and Giving Back
At UNIS, our students "grow up green" which formed the name for this project. We aim to plant 35,000 trees around the country as a contribution to the "Billion Trees" project announced by the Prime Minister of Viet Nam in 2021. It will also be launched by the Sustainability Committee as a project to celebrate UNIS Hanoi's 35th birthday.
Saturday, April 6, was a day of unity, growth, and giving back at UNIS Hanoi. 60 enthusiastic staff, parents, and students joined the "UNIS Grows Green" tree planting trip to Khang Nhat Middle and High School in Tuyen Quang.
Building on the success of the UNIS Hanoi Botanical Garden, we hope to spread our students' love of learning about gardening and nature to Khang Nhat's students. From flora to fruit, 200 trees were planted by our community members in the local school's brand-new garden areas. Each tree symbolises UNIS Hanoi's commitment to sustainability and our shared responsibility to protect our planet.
In alignment with SDG4 Quality Education, UNIS Hanoi also supported Khang Nhat in enhancing their educational resources with 15 used laptops and 1 used printer. In addition, 20 outstanding students at Khang Nhat received our UNiquelyUNIS gift bags as a token of recognition for their hard work and dedication to study.
Shout out to all student, parent and staff gardeners on this meaningful community trip! Thank you for joining us in supporting sustainability and life-long education. We can make the world a better place together!
