Gardening with Henry Herbert
Gardening is fun and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. This is what our students and parents learnt at UNIS Hanoi this week after experiencing hands-on gardening and composting with visiting expert, Henry Herbert, the author of “Medicinal Plants of Central Vietnam”.
Mr Herbert explained different garden systems, taught us how to create seed bombs, sow seeds and transplant young plants into garden beds. Our UNIS Hanoi gardeners also studied the science of a good compost and got to know more about permaculture design and how to use it to analyse and plan growing spaces.
Thank you Mr Herbert, the UNIS Service Learning team and UNIS Sustainability Committee for such a great experience. We all love gardening at UNIS Hanoi!

The series of comprehensive Sex Education Workshops for Vietnamese Children - Free educational program of UNIS Hanoi Sustainability Committee ended with a fun and chill outdoor workshop last Sunday, Apr 26 with the participation of nearly 70 people including parents and children. Parents and children have had experiences together with many levels of emotions. There were laughter, and there were also tears of both Parents and Children - tears of cohesion, of understanding as well as the regret on something that parents have not done or not doing well for their children.
Hopefully, after this series of seminars, Parents and Children will be together to make the child's puberty years really successful and shining.

So take those unused books, equipment, teaching materials, children’s toys and the good condition unused stuff and donate them. Even your older working appliances. They will surely find a new home and you will have helped to brighten the day of someone who needs them.
The Donation Hub project is initiative of UNIS Sustainability Committee with the aim of collecting and centralizing the unused stuff but in good condition around the school and share them with the people/organization who are in need.
A standard procedure are setting up and expected to launch out early next school year.
