ATL: Effective Communication
ATL: Effective Communication
Activity
Now that we have taken a look at what it means to effectively communicate, let's practice each of the following parts of public speaking using non-examples.
Spin the wheel to the left
Whoever is picked has to go up and do the OPPOSITE of what the acronym to the left describes. For example, the opposite of eye contact would be looking down at the paper the whole time.
Read the following statement:
"Hello, my name is __________________ and I'm here today to talk to you about how to effectively communicate in public speaking. The trick I will use is called PVLEGS. This stands for
P for Poise
V for Voice
L for Life
E for Eye Contact
G for Gestures and
S for Speed
Thank you for your time"
