Home stay sleeping is usually in communal rooms (separate male/female) with mattresses on the floor or beds. Blankets are supplied. At times, there may be use of homestays with smaller rooms.

Most home stays have western toilets, but a small minority use a squat toilet
Yes. Most of the home stays we use have a shower room/s. However, some only have a large tub of water for you to wash in. You will obviously need to organise a roster to use the showers.
The food (breakfast and evening meals) will be basic but of good quality. Tofu, meat, eggs, vegetables, spring rolls, instant noodles, etc. Drinks will be available to purchase and there will be water to refill water bottles.
Nearly everything on the trip is provided for you. The only thing you will need money for is to purchase your own snacks and buy soft drinks and souvenirs. Avoid bringing a lot of money!
