Author or co-author of 120 scientific contribution, of which 60 on international journals.

Didactic tasks in Strength of materials (Università “La Sapienza”), Rational Mechanics (Università Roma Tre), Dynamics of Structures (Università Roma Tre, Università “La Sapienza”); teachnig duties in Statics (Architecture, Università Roma Tre, 1996-1997 to 1997-1998) and Strength of materials (Architecture, Università “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti, 1998-1999 to 1999-2000); didactic collaborator in Strength of materials (Chenical engineering, Università “La Sapienza”, 1998-1999 to 2005-2006). Teaching duties at the Università “La Sapienza”, Civitavecchia seat, for Elements of structural engineering" (2001/2002 to 2005-2006), Structural reliability and safety (2001-2002 to 2003-2004) and Strength of materials (2001-2002 to 2003-2004). Since 2006-2007 in charge of the courses of Mechanics of solids and Mechanics of structures at the faculty of Engineering, Università "La Sapienza".

Has given seminars and informal meetings on his study and research interests in the Ph.D. courses in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Università “La Sapienza”, at the Turin Polytechnic and at the Università di Pisa.

His research interests are in: one-, two-, and three-dimensional continuum models; flexural-torsional instabilities for thin-walled slender elastic beams, also in presence of damage and stiffeners; perturbation methods for non-linear elasticity in moderately thick cylinders; fluido-structure interactions; static and dynamic instability of beams on various elastic soils; functionally graded materials; one-dimensional continua for the dynamics of circular and parabolic arches; loacal damages in circular and parabolic arches via static and dynamic measures in view of strucutral identification and monitoring; non-local elasticity in beams; historic-epistemological study of the works of Gabrio Piola, Enrico Betti, Luigi Federico Menabrea; elastic models of Cauchy, Voigt, Poincaré.

Reviewer for several international journals (Meccanica, Journal of Sound and Vibration, Thin-Walled Structures, Acta Mechanica, Mathematical Reviews, Journal of Vibration and Control a.o.); academic editor for the journal Shock and Vibration. Part of the organizing committee of national and international congresses at Università “La Sapienza” in 2004, 2012, 2019, 2021.
