AWARDS
· Winner of Premio “Vittorio Frosini” for my first book Il parametro delle norme non scritte nella giurisprudenza costituzionale, Giuffrè, Milano, 2002, publication of the Institute of Theory of Interpretation and Legal Informatics at the University La Sapienza of Rome, series "Interpretations and Transformations of Constitutional law", directed by Franco Modugno. The prize was awarded at the XXIV Conference of Italian Society for Legal and Political Philosophy, Catania, 22-25 September 2004. Commission composed of Professors Gaetano Carcaterra, Sabino Cassese, Natalino Irti. Reasons for the judgement: «The monograph of Giovanna Razzano, "The parameter of unwritten rules in constitutional jurisprudence", Giuffrè, Milan, 2002, while competently addressing a topic of positive law of great importance, presents aspects of sure philosophical-juridical interest, both in the systematic analysis she carries out of the methodology followed by the Constitutional Court in the search for unwritten norms, and in the conclusions she reaches in the critical part: taking into account various theories, such as those of Kelsen, Betti, Gadamer, Esser and Perelman, the work comes to envisage a hermeneutical methodology in which logic and axiology are combined and which is ultimately based on reasonableness understood as the universal ability to understand the being of things. The Commission of selection, on the basis of these considerations and the comparison with the works presented by the other candidates, unanimously decides to award the Vittorio Frosini prize to Giovanna Razzano».
