Theses will be assigned, based on a talk with the student, during office hours. The preparaton of the thesis is the crowning achievement of the university studies and it is an important moment of growth and verification by the student of her/his own ability to initiate and elaborate her/his own scientific opinion.

The assignment of the thesis includes:

• a preliminary review of the bibliographic material useful to familiarize with the main contributions relative to the research topic and to outline a draft of the project thesis;

• the identification of the objectives of the thesis and the underlying reasons for their choice;

• an outline of the index with a first definition of the chapters and their relative paragraphs. Requests to review each chapter with feedback and comments by the supervisor will take place within 10 days after receiving the chapters.

 In general, the student will have to:

• be able to read texts and articles in English;

• be able to "read" the necessary mathematics to understand the economic models;

• familiarize with the main techniques of descriptive statistics, in order to elaborate and discuss, where possible, economic data.

It is not possible to predict with precision the time needed to carry out the thesis work. However, it is not reasonable to think of a commitment of less than 7-9 months.
