I was part of the EFFACE ('European Union Action to Fight Environmental Crime') research project, a 40-month EU-funded research project under the Seventh Framework Programme. The project saw the involvement of eleven European partners (universities, research institutes and think tanks). I was involved in various project topics and I was Work Package Leader of WP4 "Case Studies", aimed at identifying the underlying mechanisms and impacts of different types of environmental crimes, inside and outside the EU, and the possible countermeasures to adopt. EFFACE has evaluated not only the different impacts of environmental crime but also the possible policies for its fight, with a strongly interdisciplinary perspective. The research project ended in March 2016. For project results and publications, see: www.efface.eu
