10/8 League Finals @ JD Morgan Park & End of Season Info:
Hello! Its been an exciting season that is coming to a close, please read all the information!
🏁League Finals Meet this Wednesday 10/8 @ JD Morgan Park
- Order is 6g, 6b, 7g, 7b, 8g, 8b
- Races start at 4:30 pm sharp! 6th grade should try to be there by 3:30 pm, 4 pm at the latest
- I will try to get the same spot by the playground and picnic tables we had, but as always look for orange!
- Each race will be fully completed before the next starts, so expect it to be double the length of our practice meets.
- Each runner needs to be sure they are running in the correct race or they will be disqualified, if you don't make it, there's nothing we can do.
- The Map should be the same as the JD Morgan practice meet, athletes should try to learn the course, walk it if you get there early!
- The top 10 runners in each grade and gender will receive medals, (8th girls etc.)
👟Shoe Tags & Bibs:
- ALL Shoe tags need to be turned in at the end of the race!!! They are going back to the timer to be used for a high school meet.
- Any missing shoe tags will be charged $5 to the athlete
- You can keep the bibs when you finish
📸 Yearbook Pictures
-Thursday 10/9 immediately after school
- Please bring your jersey to wear for the picture and for return after
- If you want to buy pictures, I will be passing out order forms during practice & the meet (I've attached the form below for you to get an idea of prices)- the group picture will be in the yearbook xc_photos info.pdf
🎽Jerseys
- Jerseys need to be returned to a coach or the front office with a note with your student ID number and grade, Ms. B's room 30 will be open at break or after school
- Absolutely all jerseys should be turned in by FRIDAY October 17.

👟Shoe Tag & Bib Number: Here is a link to all the xc numbers we will use all season - remember this number, thats how the results will be posted.
Video of how to wear the tag- and please don't hang out near the finish line with your shoe tag- it will mess up the timing system.
🏁Results: Link here, it should be the same link all season, it can take some time for results to show up, so please be patient and refresh the page, any issues please ask coaches, not the meet timers.
TEAM STRUCTURE & SEASON OVERVIEW
Cross-Country is long-distance running. Races are typically 1.25-2 miles in length.
Practices will take place Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 3:00-4:00.
Practices are not mandatory - if your child cannot make it to any of the practices they are still welcome to participate in the season!
Students should meet on the blacktop near the track.
From Coach Bombardieri and Coach Seratti:
Parents will be added to the parent square when they fill out the Cross-Country Sign Up Form, any updates about meets, uniforms or weather will be sent out through parent square. We typically need a few parent volunteers to direct runners on the course and take yearbook pictures- please check in with coaches to help.
For meets:
For meets, the running starts at 4 pm so please check if your grade is running first and be sure to get there early if you are!
Uniforms will be distributed the second week of practice
Shoe tags are used for timing- they will be returned to the coach after each meet in a UMS shoe tag bin near the finish
Bibs are also used- they should be kept and used every meet, they are attached with safety pins
SIGN-UP INFORMATION
Cross Country is a no-cut sport - all students who sign-up are part of the team.
The first cross country practice will take place August 25th.
All students who have signed up should meet at the track right after school.
The sign-up form below will take you to the UMS student store where you can fill out the forms and pay the required donation. Registration must be completed by a guardian prior to the first practice.
*Students cannot participate until the form is complete.*
If you need a scholarship to cover the donation, please reach out to moorel@unionsd.org!
No student will be turned away for inability to pay.
2025-2026 MEET SCHEDULE
