DARTMOUTH BAND ENSEMBLES
Dartmouth offers three music classes during the school day: Eagle Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band. Jazz Band and Choir meet after school. All groups perform at 3-4 concerts during the school year.
Eagle Band is our beginning band for 6th grade students, or 7th grade students who are new to band. Students will either have band during 3rd or 4th period.
Concert Band is our intermediate level band for 7th and 8th grade students. Students will have band either 1st or 5th period.
Symphonic Band is our advanced band and members are selected through auditions, based on ability and attitude. Symphonic Band is for 7th and 8th graders and meets as a 0 period class before school. Symphonic Band marches in parades, performs for other schools and travels to Disneyland.
Jazz Band is an extra-curricular band and is open to 7th, and 8th graders. Students must be currently in Concert/Symphonic Band, or previously in Concert/Symphonic Band to participate. Jazz Band meets only on Tuesday and Thursday after school in the band room.
Choir is an extra-curricular activity on campus that is open to all Dartmouth students. Choir meets Wednesday after school from 3:30-4:30 in room 618.
Color Guard is an extra-curricular activity on campus that is open to all Dartmouth students. Color Guard meets Monday and Wednesday mornings during 0 period (7:20-8:10) from late September through early December and joins the marching band in the parades in late November and early December.
