The Nassau BOCES Uniondale Barber Shop open for operation in a full service experience. The Barbers-in-Training work towards receiving their NYS Barbers License. On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, UHS Barbers-in Training had their first Barber's Expo. They provided professional industry services at No cost.
BAM NY Minority Student Day March 25, 2022
BAM Minority Student Day provides middle/high school, and college students from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds with exciting tools, resources, and career opportunities available in technology. Throughout the day, Microsoft employees guide students through hands-on technology labs and information sessions. Employees also serve as mentors, speaking with students about the wide variety of career opportunities available to them in technology and digital transformation.
About Blacks at Microsoft [BAM]
Founded in 1989, BAM is Microsoft’s first employee resource group which has led investments in programs like the BAM scholarships, the BAM Academy and the BAM Summer Mentorship Program, designed to educate students on careers in the tech industry. BAM also partners with community organizations across its 23 dispersed chapters to deliver solid programming for underrepresented youth.
