DATA

As social, political and economic trends reshape the nature of work and careers globally, the Uniondale UFSD community is confronted with the challenge of preparing scholars to navigate an increasingly complex occupational landscape. Systemic racism and COVID-19 are part of the impetus of increased poverty for Blacks and Hispanics, ultimately, leaving some with occupational segregation, economic devastation, health insecurity, food insecurity, housing insecurity, limited liquid asset, no generational wealth to desolation. As much as hardships have impacted adults there is also a progressive uptick in poverty, for people under the age of 18. Finding employment and dealing with the same insecurities are equally difficult. Workforce Development Program (WFDP) is a fundamental vehicle to deliver key social supports to empower youth, build resilience and create work place readiness.
