SOLE-H2 aims to develop low-cost, scalable and decentralized systems capable of producing hydrogen directly from sunlight and water.
The project investigates advanced molecular and supramolecular materials—organic, inorganic and hybrid—designed to efficiently convert solar energy into chemical energy.
SOLE-H2 contributes to the development of sustainable hydrogen technologies by reducing dependence on electricity-based processes and promoting a “green-by-design” approach.
The project supports the transition toward decentralized energy systems, enabling hydrogen production in a wide range of contexts, from small-scale applications to medium-sized infrastructures, including critical and emergency scenarios.
Funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), and by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE).
