Fabrication and study of epitaxial nanomaterials for advanced, wearable, biosensors for the early diagnosis and monitoring of diseases. The work will be done in collaboration with the biomedicine laboratory of Milano-Bicocca University.

Modeling and Fabrication of Quantum Nanostructures for Quantum Technologies

Quantum nanostructures are fundamental in the field of quantum technologies and in particular quantum photonics. In fact, they offer unprecedented control over the interaction between light and matter. Their unique properties enable the development of technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible with classical optical materials, laying the groundwork for future quantum technologies in computing, communication, and beyond.

The candidate will be responsible for developing, through theoretical modeling of the electronic states and fabrication, using advanced growth processes and nanostructuring techniques, of quantum nanostructures with controlled properties in terms of dynamics of photogenerated carriers and photon emission. The development is aimed at developing quantum materials for the integration of non-classical sources of photons into quantum photonic circuits.
