We are glad to announce that the article “Designing, Developing, and Evaluating a Stakeholder-Informed Mobile App to Promote Physical Activity in Children” has just been published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
This work, developed within the E-Walk Project, presents a protocol for the design and evaluation of a mobile app aimed at promoting physical activity among children. The participatory approach, involving students, teachers, parents, and experts, made the app more engaging, practical, and sustainable.
A special thank you to all collaborators and the E-Walk team for their valuable contribution to this achievement!

We had the honour of welcoming Alexandros Skourtis, world para-athlete, bronze medalist in the 2025 World Championships (400m T38) and new European record holder as the official Ambassador of our Erasmus+ project “Walk Around the Earth”.
As a former student of 45th Primary School of Patras, Alexandros’ visit carried special significance. His athletic career, marked by perseverance, discipline, and excellence, continues to inspire our educational community. Teachers who have known him since early primary school were moved to see how his dedication has evolved into international success.
Alexandros addressed our students in an open discussion, offering motivational messages and answering questions. Students from grade six also conducted a brief interview for the school newspaper. His humility and strength left a deep impression on all who attended. We are excited to announce Alexandros as the official Ambassador of our Erasmus+ project
For the next two years, he will spread the project’s message through his competitions, achievements, and international presence — carrying our school’s values around the world. 🌍✨
Nora Drakou beginning her career in 2008 and won medals at European Championship. Among the very few Greek female athletes to have competed in four Olympic Games. She continues to set national records, confirming the consistency and longevity of her career.
During the visit, students watched a tribute video and a detailed presentation of her achievements, but what impressed them most was her presence itself: her smile, kindness, humility, and approachability.
The children asked thoughtful questions about her goals, challenges, fatigue, injuries, travels, and the people who support her. Nora Drakou responded with honesty and warmth, revealing that her next major goal is the European Championships in August 2026.
She made special reference to the importance of proper nutrition, consistency, and discipline, as well as the support she receives from coaches, specialists, and above all, her family.
She emphasized that sport has given her far more than medals: friendships around the world, contact with different cultures, and the lesson of acceptance.
In closing, she delivered a clear message to the students:
“Never neglect your studies. Sport is wonderful, but one day it comes to an end. Education, however, lasts forever.”
As part of the visit, it was announced with great joy that Nora Drakou will serve as an ambassador for the Erasmus+ program “Walk Around the Earth / E-walk,” promoting the values of sport, cooperation, and respect for every culture. The school presented her with an honorary plaque, while students had the opportunity to talk with her, receive autographs, and live an experience that, by all accounts, will remain unforgettable. 🌍✨
